Is Code Assistant free?
Yes! The core application is 100% free and open source. It works entirely on your local machine with no account required. You can optionally subscribe to cloud sync if you want multi-device access and encrypted backups.
Do I need to pay for AI features?
No. You bring your own LLM API keys (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Ollama, etc.). We never charge for AI usage - you pay your provider directly. Our subscription only covers cloud storage and sync.
Is my data encrypted and safe?
Yes! If you use cloud sync, your data is encrypted end-to-end using XChaCha20-Poly1305 and Argon2id. Even we cannot decrypt your data - only you have the encryption key. Free users keep everything local.
What happens if I downgrade?
You get a 3-day grace period to select which projects to keep synced or download your data. After that, excess projects become read-only in the cloud (still accessible locally).
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards via Dodo Payments, a secure payment processor.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes! Cancel anytime from your account settings. Your local data stays on your device forever. Cloud data remains accessible during the grace period.
